Domestic Film Competition
The 7th annual IFF Film Competition will judge short and feature films from undergraduate schools and graduate film schools from around the world. An official selection of around 30 films will be carefully chosen by a select number of qualified student judges. All films submitted must have been completed while the filmmaker was enrolled in an institution of higher learning. Once selected, the official selection will be sent to industry professionals (directors, writers, producers, executives) who will be in attendance at the 2008 Ivy Film Festival, and they will select the winning films. Submissions will be accepted from November through February.
Screenplay Competition
The 7th annual IFF Screenplay Competition will judge both short and long form student written screenplays in separate competitions. A panel of qualified student judges will read each submission and select twenty semi-finalist screenplays according to an established set of guidelines. These criteria include concept, character development, dialogue, and story. Once selected, the finalist submissions will be sent to industry professionals (agents, producers, creative executives, writers, directors) who will choose the final winning screenplay, to be announced during the festival in April. The winners for short and long form will recieve cash prizes as well as a reading of their work during the festival. Additional prizes for outstanding work in Comedy, Drama, and Genre films will be awarded. We are looking for any and all topics! Submissions will be accepted from November through February.
International Film Competition
The 7th annual IFF International Film Competition will judge films from institutions of higher learning outside of the United States. An official selection of around 10 films will be carefully chosen by a select number of qualified student judges. All films submitted must have been completed while the filmmaker was enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school located outside the United States. Once selected, the official selection will be sent to industry professionals (directors, writers, producers, executives) who will be in attendance at the 2008 Ivy Film Festival, and they will selected the winning films. Submissions will be accepted from November through February.
